  • Your digestive system works efficiently and you don’t suffer with constipation or bloating.
  • You have emotional resilience and cope with the little things (or sometimes big things) that life sends your way!

    Maternity Reflexology

Prepare for a positive birth experience!

Reflexology treatments during pregnancy can be a wonderful way to connect with your little one and are a nurturing experience for any mum-to-be.

    * Research has shown that after having reflexology treatments in the later stages of pregnancy, women needed less pain relief and had faster birthing times

    * G. Motha and J. McGrath - 1992 "The effects of reflexology on labour outcome".

So reflexology could result in you having an easier labour!

Reflexology may also ease many pregnancy discomforts including Nausea/Morning Sickness, Constipation, Heartburn/Acid Reflex and Pelvic Girdle Pain.

    Maternity Reflexology treatments help by:

  • Promoting deep relaxation
  • Relieving stress and preparing you - physically and emotionally - for birth
  • Easing muscular tension post-term - that may encourage spontaneous natural labour

  • As a professional Maternity Reflexologist, with over twenty years experience, I feel privileged to have supported hundreds of expectant mums throughout pregnancy.

I'm passionate about helping every woman to maintain a healthy pregnancy and achieve the best possible birthing experience.

    Balancing hormones

As women, we’re governed by hormones, that can fluctuate wildly at different times of our lives…

The powerful action of hormones can cause bodily changes, that may have an impact on Fertility.

Conditions such as Endometriosis and PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) may cause troubling symptoms and make conception more difficult.

Although bloating, breast tenderness and irritability are common just before menstruation, symptoms may last much longer and become debilitating - a sign of PMS (Pre Menstrual Syndrome)

    Reflexology treatments help by:

  • Encouraging deep relaxation and easing muscular tension - to help reduce pain
  • Relieving stress and reducing cortisol production - to assist natural hormone balancing

  • Reports from clients have shown a reduction in pre-menstrual pain, more regular periods, less bloating and improved mood after reflexology treatments.

    Perimenopause and declining hormones

The years leading up to menopause can be a time of great emotional upheaval…

But it’s not only your emotions that are affected. Perhaps you’re experiencing?

    • Irregular/missed periods
    • Scant/heavy menstrual flow
    • Hot flushes
    • Night sweats
    • Insomnia
    • Bloating
    • Loss of libido
    • Brain fog

    • Changes in body odour
    • Vaginal dryness
    • Dry eyes/mouth/skin
    • Hair loss
    • Bladder problems
    • Anxiety
    • Low mood/mood swings
    • Reduced confidence

If you’re forty or over, it’s likely that your symptoms are a result of declining hormone levels - primarily oestrogen.

Although troublesome and uncomfortable, these are seen as a natural and normal part of the ageing process.

    * Research has shown that reflexology can reduce vasomotor symptoms (hot flushes/night sweats) and improve the quality of life for menopausal women

    * (E. Gozuyesil, M. Baser, Complement Ther Clin Pract. 2016 Aug;24:78-85. doi: 10.1016/j.ctcp.2016.05.011. Epub 2016 May)

Reflexology may be especially suitable if you're considering an holistic approach to this natural transition and will support you throughout this significant life change.

Soothing reflexology treatments also work well alongside HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) and will provide additional calming support.

Reflexology treatments provide menopause support by:

  • Promoting deep relaxation
  • Relieving anxiety
  • Reducing hot flushes and night sweats
  • Encouraging restful sleep
  • Lifting low mood
  • Enhancing your overall sense of wellbeing
